This Master shows a maidservant pouring milk from a pitcher into a bowl. The original title of this work is ‘ Een Meyd die melk uytgiet’. It’s painted by Johannes Vermeer around the year 1660 and is currently displayed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Vermeer’s main purpose with this painting was to show sobriety.
